This tool is specially created to discover VertX controllers in network. It
automatically detects HID Edge and VertX controllers from the network and allows user to
connect with the particular server. This tool helps you to select a
particular controller and allows software to communicate with that
controller. This tool has two following parts; Controller List and Controller Configuration Details. Let us see one by one. Controller List
Using this tab user can list the number of controllers in tne network and in the database. Connecting controllers to server and configuring new doors to controllers can also be done through this tab.
Following image displays detail controller list in the network.
- Clicking on Refresh button reloads the controller data in the network and database.
- Colour Code: The details in the controller list has various colour codes and its respective meanings, as given below;
- Blue: Controller in the network without any database configuration. It is not connected to server yet.
- Black: Controller in the network with database configuration(doors and readers are already attached here) and connected to server.
- Red: The controller present in the database but is not in the network.
- It displays details such as Internal Id of controller, Controller Id, Controller Make i.e. controller name, IP address of controller, Host name, Blink - it blinks the light / button if controller's connectivity is checked by clicking on Blink On/Off button, Setup Controller i.e to set IP address of the server and controller status.
Blink On/Off- Select the controller in the network to check which controller in the list
is the same connected by you.
- Click on the button Blink On along with the controller selected by you.
- As shown in the picture, it starts blinking the colour.
- Check the LED of the controller if it started
blinking from yellow to green and vice-verse. If it happens
simultaneously at both the places, it is considered as the same
controller is connected to the network.
- Click on the button Blink Off when confirmed.
Setup ControllerThis button is used to connect controller to server. It allows user to do VertX Communication configuration. Controllers are into network displays the button Setup Controller where as controllers only into database but not in network displays button Undiscovered.
- Select the controller in the network.
- Click on button Setup Controller to connect it to server.
- To
avoid the misuse of the application, authentication is required. From
the security point of view, it asks for user name and password. Enter
here the user name and password. It opens the VertX Basic Setup page from web browser.
- Enter the host IP address and other required details.
- Click on Save button to save configuration.
- It shows the system status as connected.
- Close the window.
New-Add Doors
This button is used to add new doors to controllers in the network. When doors are added to controllers which are present into network, it displays the button Present-Doors Added where as the controllers in the database displays the button Undiscovered-Doors Added. For the controllers displaying buttons Present-Doors Added and Undiscovered-Doors Added, door cannot be added further using this tool. Once doors added using New-Add Doors, use Detailed Configuration of Snehapadma CentralStation™ Configurator to add doors further. - Select the controller in the network.
- Click on the button New Add Doors. It takes you to tab Controller Configuration Details. (See following for more details.)
- Set and configure controllers and add new doors.
- Close the application.
Controller Configuration Details
This tab helps user to configure controller details and to ad new doors to it. Click on the button New Add Doors from Controller list. This tab gets opened.
Set Controller Details
- Check the details available in window. System automatically generates Controller Id, MAC Address, Serial No. and Controllermake.
- Enter Host IP address.
- Change the network details as IP address and port number if necessary.
- Click on Set button to save configuration.
Set Doors
Here door details can be set. There are two types of door behaviour. CIFO(Credential In Free Out) and CICO (Credential In Credential Out). One option to be selected ata a time to add door details.
Follow the image below to understand how door details can be added.

- Click on the New button.
- Enter Readerinterface Id, it should be an integer value.
- Select the door behaviour CIFO or CICO
- If CIFO is selected, add Left and right door names, name of the area to get in and to move out. Or use drop down list to use existing doors and areas.
- If CICO is selected, add Door name and name of the area to get in and to move out. Or use drop down list to
use existing doors and areas. For CICO door type, In Area and Out Area should be same.
- In case
of controllers HID-V1000 and HID-V2000, two readers can be attached to each ReaderInterface.
- For HID-V2000, single door with CICO type or two doors with CIFO type can be added.
- In case of E400 and EWR400, only one reader interface can be attached as it contains inbuilt reader.
- For controller E400 and EWR400, door behaviour CIFO can only be selected and only left side door can be added to it.
- Click on Add button to save entries.
- Refresh button can be used to reload entries.
- Cancel button is used to cancel current action.
