Controller Alert

Introduction

Controller Alert Utility helps you find issues with controllers and get status information directly in your mailbox.

Settings

To use this, you must have set
  • SMTP user information in the TimeOffice Configuration database. Ask Snehapadma for more information.
  • Email addresses for sending Time Office and Access Control related alerts

Note

You may want to test the SMTP settings using telnet as per instructions given on page http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123686.aspx before setting them in Snehapadma CentralStation

Utility

This is command line utility which requires two arguments.
  1. First has be either t or a. t -> Time Office, a -> Access Control
  2. Second has to time in seconds. If CentralStation server has not received access control logs from controller since that time, it will raise alert.
Download and unzip file at the end of this page and run it from its directory

Examples


Following are the two examples

Example 1

d:\> ControllerAlert.exe t 28800

This will send email if CentralStation server has not received access control logs from Time Office related controllers for last 8 hours

Example 2

d:\> ControllerAlert.exe t 172800

This will send email if CentralStation server has not received access control logs from Access Control related controllers for last 48 hours
